Lead Software Engineer

As our new Lead Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting the growth, commercialization, design, architecture, development and maintenance of the MRI Online Software platform. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you’ll be a leader and collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Sales and Content to implement a world-class, interactive software platform and drive innovation in the medical education field. Beyond a strong technical background, this role requires someone who cares deeply about the end user experience and leading technical teams. 

Responsibilities

• Design, architect and build the platform infrastructure that will help MRI Online scale
• Drive long-term technology strategies that span multiple complex projects
• Design, document, and develop coherent software solutions spanning multiple platforms
• Determine process improvements and coding best practices
• Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams
• Mentor junior engineers and outsourced development team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, managing, and maintaining high traffic content-driven web
  properties
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related technical field, or
  equivalent practical experience
• Expertise background building, scaling modular web applications using React, Node, AWS and SQL. Python + Django experience would be great!
• Confidence making architecture and implementation decisions that are thoughtful. Assumptions are always well tested
• Familiarity with healthcare standards, such as HL7 or DICOM, a plus
