Product Owner

Description

Reporting to the Head of Product as an individual contributor, your responsibilities will include supporting daily operations of the engineering team, helping define user stories and requirements, communicating product knowledge to stakeholders and customers, and managing important projects that have critical impacts to clinical education.  

The ideal candidate has up to 5 years of prior experience, is an excellent communicator, wants to work in Product long term, and is up to the challenge of making an impact at a fast-paced healthcare startup.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Product and the Head of Engineering to understand roadmap priorities, prioritize tasks and set short term goals accordingly.
• Participate in and lead Agile planning processes, user story creation, backlog grooming, sprint planning, refinement, and retros.
• Create product documentation, video tutorials, and “How To” guides so our teammates and customers can be experts on functionality and best practices.
• Run process for communicating product updates for minor changes and major releases so teammates and customers are always informed about the latest-and-greatest features and functionality. 
• Educate and train teammates and customers on new products and features so they leverage our solutions to their fullest potential. 
• Help drive projects to completion by enabling  communication, managing dependencies, and jumping in to complete tasks when needed.
• Update weekly and monthly product metrics that will help identify key trends to inform strategic planning and decision making. 
• Run process for soliciting teammates and customers to give us feedback about their experiences with our products, new features we are working on, and/or our product roadmap to identify where we can improve.

Skills & Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Technology, Education, or a related field.
• 3-5 Years of Professional Experience in Technology, Healthcare, and Customer Service. 
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with shrewd attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the Agile Methodology for software development. 
• Be curious, never afraid to ask tons of questions.
• Positive attitude, willing to take on new challenges, and being flexible.
• Familiarity with creating spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets).
• (bonus) Familiar with Jira or other similar software. 
• (bonus) Familiar with LMS platforms.
